Surgical Management
Cerebral contusions are scanned by using computed tomography (CT) brain scans or Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Minor cases of the injury will heal on their own. If the injury is very severe and the pressure on the brain increases and the hemorrhage forms a blood clot, a surgery would be needed. A craniotomy, a surgical opening of the skull, would be needed to remove the cerebral contusions.
